Differences between Q235 and Q345
Different: the lower limit of yield strength of Q235 is 235mpa, the
lower limit of yield strength of Q345 is 345mpa (the meaning of Q
is the Chinese character "qu", the following value represents the
lower limit of yield strength)
The two alloy content is different: Q235 is ordinary carbon steel,
Q345 is low alloy steel. (Compare with the old standard
1591-88:12MNV, 16MN16MNRe, 18NB, 14MNNB)
Performance and Application
Q235-- Metal structural parts, carburized or cyanided parts with
low core strength requirements, pull rods, connecting rods, hooks,
couplings, bolts and nuts, sleeves, shafts and welds.
Q345 - good comprehensive mechanical properties, low temperature
performance may also, plasticity and good weldability, used in low
pressure vessel, oil tank, vehicles, cranes, mining machinery,
power stations, Bridges under moving load of the structure,
mechanical parts, building structure, general metal parts, hot
rolled or normalizing state, can be used in various structure below
40 ℃ cold areas.
If the structure is strength control, can consider using Q345 if
the structure is stiffness control, can consider using Q235 price
Q345 is a little more expensive, but because of its high strength,
can save material. Specific selection can be compared from the
above points.
