3, A36 steel plate use
This standard applies to riveted, bolted and welded structures used
in Bridges and buildings, as well as general purpose structural
steel quality carbon steel sections, plates and rods. The yield of
A36 steel plate is about 240MP, and the yield value will decrease
with the increase of the thickness of the material. Because of the
moderate carbon content, the comprehensive performance is better,
and the strength, plasticity and welding performance are better
matched, and the most widely used.
4. Impact test of A36 steel plate
Charpy V notch specimens were used in the impact toughness test.
The impact toughness index is Akv. For grade B, C and D steel,
Akv≥27J is required under different temperature requirements. At
different impact temperatures, ASTMA36 is American standard carbon
structural plate, according to ASTMA36 / a36m-03a standard. The
tensile strength of A36 is 58~80 Ksi (about 400~550MPa) and the
yield strength is 36 Ksi (about 250MPa).
The tensile strength of Q235 is 370~500 MPa and the yield strength
is 235MPa.
The tensile strength and yield strength of SS400 are 400~510 MPa
and 245Mpa respectively.
These three materials can often be substituted for each other in
real life.
5, A36 steel plate chemical composition:
C: ≤0.25, Si≤0.40, Mn: ≤0.80-1.20, P≤0.04, S: ≤0.05, Cu≥0.20 (when
specifying copper containing steel).
6. Mechanical properties:
Yield strength: ≥250.
Tensile strength: 400-550.
Elongation: ≥20.
Gb and A36 material similar is Q235
